Yuma Carpets & Tile was founded in 1989 by Terry and Kay McKivergan, two individuals with an immense passion for delivering quality and innovative flooring solutions to the local community of Yuma. Yuma Carpets & Tile is a pioneer in offering high-quality carpet, tile, vinyl, hardwood and laminate flooring. We also offer specialized services such as installations and Shaw floor carpet cleaning products. When we're not making Yuma's floors beautiful, we like to give back to the community that has supported us for so many years.

To get the look you want and help your new carpet last as long as you expect it to, you should consider hiring a professional to install your new carpet. A qualified pro will have the experience and knowledge needed to get the job done right the first time. If you plan to install your own carpet, be sure to check the manufacturer's warranties and approved installation guidelines. This will help ensure you've got coverage and support if unforeseen issues should arise. Carpet installation is hard work and requires a variety of tools and supplies the average DIY enthusiast might not have on hand.

This makes vinyl a great choice for bathrooms, dens, and kitchens. While many manufacturers offer water resistant technology built into the plank or tile finish, it is still important to wipe away water spills as quickly as possible. Frequent care and maintenance of your luxury vinyl tiles and planks can be quickly built into your overall home cleaning routine! If your flooring needs more than just a dry surface clean, use a manufacturer-approved cleaning solution and follow their guidelines. For most approved cleaning solutions, you just need to spray and wipe dry without any unnecessary rinsing or washing.

At Yuma Carpets and Tile Flooring, we recommend frequent care and maintenance to keep your new carpet looking beautiful and feeling plush. We understand you don't necessarily have a lot of time to invest in upkeep, but following some simple and easy care and maintenance tasks will ensure the longevity of your carpet. Establishing a preventative maintenance routine is a great first step. Remove outdoor shoes before walking across your carpet so you don't track dirt inside the house and use a good quality carpet pad for additional support.

At Yuma Carpets and Tile Flooring, we know how important it is to follow a protective care and maintenance routine for your new hardwood floors. Set out entry mats and doormats and remove all outdoor shoes before walking across your hardwood flooring. To protect your hardwood floors from dents or indentations that heavy furniture can leave over time, make sure to use floor protectors for optimal protection. Sweep, vacuum or dry mop your hardwood flooring on a regular basis. Make sure to check with your manufacturer's care and maintenance guide, in addition to their list of approved vacuum cleaners, before caring for your new floors.

Some laminate flooring includes a waterproof finish, but this feature is not universal. Make sure to carefully follow guidelines and directions from the manufacturer. Here's our quick guideline overview compiled by our Yuma Carpets and Tile Flooring experts.

With daily upkeep, tile will look beautiful for years to come. Care is simple and low maintenance. With only a couple of minutes a day & a deeper clean once a week, your flooring will stay looking like new! Keep your tile and stone flooring clean with daily sweeping, dusting or vacuuming to clear away dirt, sand and grime and keep the surface looking polished. Unlike hardwood, laminate or resilient flooring, it's also recommended to use either steam cleaning or a wet mop at least once a week with a manufacturer approved cleaner that is also compatible with grout.

Before any installation work begins, one of our installation professionals here at Yuma Carpets & Tile will visit your home to take measurements and get a feel for the space. During this appointment, make sure to ask any questions you may have about the process or the installation timeline. In general, once the installation has begun, that area will be off limits until the installation is complete, so keep this in mind when planning ahead. Preparation is important for a successful hardwood installation.

Adorn your home with the luxury you deserve by installing a fresh new hardwood floor. Hardwood floors are the epitome of elegance and luxury and will certainly turn your home into the talk of the town. At Yuma Carpets & Tile we offer the very best hardwood flooring from Shaw Floors and more. What's the difference? Solid hardwood is the traditional version of hardwood flooring, featuring planks made from a single, solid piece of real wood. Engineered hardwood, on the other hand, is a layered wood floor made from thin slices of hardwood layered on top of another piece of high-quality wood composite such as plywood.

Laminate floors are incredibly versatile & stunningly beautiful, able to be installed in almost every room of your home or office. The wonderful thing about laminate floors is that they are manufactured to mimic the look of wood, stone & ceramic, so much so that it's hard to tell them apart at first glance! Laminate floors are manufactured by fusing wood-based materials together into different layers to ensure maximum comfort and durability. The textured look is brought to the surface using precise techniques and specified patterns that mimic the look of real hardwood planks.

Yuma Carpets & Tile offers a wide range of high-quality carpets from Shaw Floors and more. We have a wide variety of collections in various colors, styles, materials and pile heights to choose from. Whether you are wanting to add a wall to wall carpet in the bedroom or looking to jazz up your office, we have the carpet for you. It's available in a variety of lengths and thicknesses, so you'll have a range of options regardless of what you're specifically looking for. The twist of individual strands in cut pile is key when making a decision - tighter, heavier twist will add texture and durability to your carpet to help it stand up to matting and crushing.

We use the Shaw Floors Cut a Rug Program to help you design your custom area rug, right in our store! Choose the color, pattern, material, shape, edge type and backing you want, then see your design digitally before your rug is cut! Cut a Rug is a type of carpet binding, the process of using carpet material to craft an area rug. The rug we cut is then bound with a cloth tape of your choice, which is sewn on or used as an edge finish to add fringe.

Once we've prepared your substrate, your new luxury vinyl floor will be installed. Vinyl can be installed with one of three different techniques: full spread (adhesive is applied to the entire substrate), perimeter adhered (adhesive is only applied to the seams & perimeters of the floor) or floating installation (no adhesive required). Floating vinyl installation is becoming more and more common, and many of our products use this method. As with any other flooring product, it's important to be prepared and know what to expect.
