Our Community Forestry team has planted thousands of trees across the Baltimore region. Thanks to the helping hands of volunteers, we plant, water, mulch, and maintain hundreds of new trees annually.
This program works towards increasing tree canopy and improving long-term tree survival in as many places as possible across our watersheds, with support from our partners and funding from many diverse sources including TreeBaltimore, Baltimore Gas and Electric, The Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability, The Chesapeake Bay Trust, and The Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Volunteer at one of our community tree plantings. Our plantings are usually every weekend from March through May and October through December.
We had a great time talking with WYPR and community leaders in South East Baltimore about the amazing potential of the Baltimore Greenway Trails Network. Incredible progress being made to connect Baltimore's neighborhood and more good news on the way. Check out the radio and print story here....
