As hardwood flooring ages, its looks deteriorate as well and you may start to think about having them "refreshed". Bellevue Hardwood Floors offers a variety of options including refinishing, recoating, staining and installation of new hardwood. So if you are looking to restore the natural beauty of your old floors or add new wood flooring into your home, you've come to the right place. Jaroslaw "Slavek" Matyjaszek, the founder and owner of Bellevue Hardwood Floors single-handedly began the company in 1988 and has always emphasized attention to detail and solid craftsmanship.
We specialize in the installation of new hardwood floors and new hardwood stairs. The wood is installed unfinished and will be sanded and finished on the job site, resulting in the highest quality flooring. We also provide alternatives such as prefinished and floating floors. If you are looking to restore the existing floors in your home, refinishing is the process that will take place. Refinishing a floor involves multiple sandings, buffing and three coats of finish. The floor color can be kept natural or changed with stain prior to coating, customers have a wide range of customizable stain colors to choose from.
For the first two weeks after refinishing use your floors with care. You can walk on the floor 24 hours after the application of finish, but we recommend that no furniture be put onto the floor for 2-3 days. No carpets or water should be used on floors during this first two week period. Allow additional air flow across the surfaces such as open windows to help the floor finish cure faster. Vacuum or use an untreated dust mop on your floor regularly. This will keep the sand and grit off your floor that may cause premature wear.
