Reclamation Lumber LLC is located in a 20,000 square foot former trolley garage minutes from downtown New Haven, Connecticut. The work of processing antique reclaimed wood to produce custom flooring, beams, millwork and material for cabinetry, countertops and other unique products commences at this facility. Our business embodies many of the central tenets of the Green Technology movement and we have supplied material to many Green design oriented architectural projects. As craftsmen and woodworkers we at Reclamation Lumber have had an appreciation for old growth material for decades.

The essence of sustainable architecture, in part, is the attempt to reduce the collective environmental impact of the entire building process-from planning through construction to the lifecycle of the building itself. A component of this process is the reuse or recycling of building material. At Reclamation Lumber we've discovered, somewhat inadvertently, that our business embodies many of the central tenets of the green building movement-reducing the pressure to cut new forest and recycling existing building material that might otherwise have been destined for a landfill.

Reclamation Lumber, like many businesses, started as an idea. In the early 1990's this particular idea was "let's buy an old barn, take it down and sell the wood". After looking at a few structures, we came across a defunct factory in our backyard. Unbeknownst to us, The Winchester Repeating Arms Factory had moved to a modern facility nearby and the old manufacturing plant was slated for demolition. After some serious sleuthing we were granted permission to "reclaim" the original Winchester gunstock drying shed which was comprised of a mixture of materials including Southern yellow pine and Douglas fir.

Reclamation Lumber is an amazing facility for Antique lumber and all of its possible applications! Rob Fecke and his knowledgeable crew take the time to address each client and contractors needs. They de-nail and kiln dry their wood and then pay great attention to every process to ensure that the historic lumber leaving their shop is ready for implementation on the builders job site.

A designer - contractors paradise! The owner Rob and his passion for reclaimed wood unparalleled! Whether your looking for flooring or decorative wood Reclamation has got the goods!
