Aerobotix has taken robotic sanding to the next level by incorporating active compliance. Our robotic sanding systems react to a variety of sensor inputs to actively adjust the robot motion "on-the-fly." The robot receives the inputs and alters the kinematic motion of the taught program to achieve a desired force at the sanding tool. Previous technologies overload the sanding tool with compliance responsibilities that make the tool large, complicated, expensive, and limited. By allowing the robot to automatically and actively change its path, within a limited range of motion, we have opened a new era in robotic sanding.

Aerobotix provides complete turn-key automated production systems for customers within the aerospace, military, and general manufacturing sectors. Our integrated systems are usually based on a robot performing a closed loop process. A typical automated system would include single or multiple robot arms, auxiliary linear axis rails, closed loop coating flow control system, end of arm tooling, spray gun, PLC & pneumatic control cabinets, GUI, control software and operator screens, and robot path plans.
