Founded in 1928 by Harold Clarence "HC" Hansen, The Dependable Painting Company has remained a family-owned business and grown with the techniques and technologies of the painting and restoration industries. A first-generation American of Norwegian descent, HC spoke seven languages. The original focus of his then young painting company was factory and industrial painting. This was the beginning of a business that would last well beyond his years. After serving in World War II as an Army navigator and graduating from Ohio University on a GI bill, HC's son, Philip Hansen, came to work for his father at The Dependable Painting Company.
The Dependable Painting Company maintains an exceptionally skilled, full-time staff of 40 union painters. From apprentice to journeyman to foreman - all are highly trained in safety and today's best practices in painting. Our company is committed to a 4-year apprenticeship program for new painters. Apprentices work in the field; receiving on-the-job training. They also attend classes to receive book and skills training by competent instructors. Additionally, they are able to earn college credit.
