Whether you just moved into a brand new home or have lived there for twenty-five years, DBK Painting can provide the quality and service the interior of your home deserves. A few coats of properly. Let DBK Painting help you to not only preserve the beauty of your home, but also the structural integrity of your home. The exterior paint or stain finish of your home is its first defense. Here at DBK Painting, we understand how important it is to make your a personalized oasis. We can provide the guidance and expertise to add unique accents to your home.

More often than not, we hear that our clients would like their homes to remain as functional and as clean as possible during the time we are working in their homes. This is why in early 2014 DBK Painting started using a Festool system for organization and to help reduce the amount of dust created during the surface prep process of our projects. We have to use many different hand tools, sanders, masking film, masking tape, paint trays and well, you get the idea (professional painting requires much more than just a paint brush and roller).

Are you wondering how to coordinate the different trades needed to complete your project and who or what should be done first? These is probably one of the top questions we get asked when a project involves more than painting. We often get asked when the painting should be completed along the home improvement timeline. This all depends on the overall project and its scope. It will also depend on your contractor's preferences, your personal preferences and your timeline. We can provide some insight to help guide you to find out what is best for your project.

Although a few coats of paint can do wonders for an interior or exterior surface, sometimes painting isn't enough to make a big enough impact to the interior design elements of your home or when a piece of exterior trim is rotten. With a full time carpenter on our staff, we have the ability to replace many interior wood trim elements in your home or add additional wood accents you have always wanted. We can upgrade your baseboards, casings or doors; we can also add crown molding, wainscoting, picture frames or faux beams.

After doing all of the above prep, the paint can finally be applied. Depending on wood type and existing surface of cabinets we will use either a hybrid oil product or a waterborne lacquer. There are different reasons for using one product over another and this is decided based on the needs of each customer and the existing cabinet surfaces in your home. Every situation is different and the best results will be achieved by reviewing all the variables involved. Paint requires time to achieve full cure and optimal hardness.

This seems like a simple question and some might make a fast recommendation of a particular brand of stain, however. Decks are a very tricky item to finish properly. There are so many variables that have to be considered prior to applying any kind of stain. If we were planning to stain your deck, we would start by asking a series of questions and would also be sure to discuss the proper expectations for the life of a product applied to your wood deck. This will limit what kind of products you can use or would be best suited for the type of wood material used.

Let DBK Painting help you to not only preserve the beauty of your home, but also the structural integrity of your home. The exterior paint or stain finish of your home is its first defense to not only the many abuses of Mother Nature but these finishes also protect your home from all kinds of insects, rodents and animals. When exterior surfaces start to weather and breakdown, they become havens to many types of insects and larger bugs. Once these insects intrude, they then attract birds, woodpeckers and other animals looking to feed on them.

All you need to do is provide the paint and tell your DBK Painter what you would like painted! This is perfect for your powder room, accent wall or touch-ups around the house! Nick is the owner and operations manager at DBK Painting. He has been a professional painter for over 10 years and bought DBK Painting in 2020 after being a longtime employee of the company. Nick has an eye for color and a steady hand. His love of the trade is visible in the work he performs with his team.

This IPE deck was originally built in October of 2015 and was completely grayed out in the spring of 2016. The homeowners loved the original natural color of the IPE and wanted it back so they could enjoy the rich colors of the wood. They had researched the material prior to building the deck and understood what kind of maintenance the IPE would require. First, we had to remove all the grey (or dead) wood fibers. This is done by sanding the surfaces with 80 grit sand paper. Ipe is extremely dense and is so heavy it actually sinks in water.
