Welcome to Fine Line Painting originally a residential specific painting company established in 1984 by Eric Ditmars. We provide quality paint finishes to homes, cabinetry, doors, floors, and commercial buildings. Our goal is to bring a level of service, quality, and commitment to each project. We provide a twelve man team that is capable of managing large homes or projects within realistic timeframes. Four licensed contractors within our paint crew assures every job detail is personally attended to and managed.
Fine Line Painting was founded in Los Gatos, California by owner Eric Ditmars in 1984. The inspiration and experience for quality painting began by working on many historic Victorian homes in Los Gatos, Willow Glen, and San Jose areas. Believing in detail oriented preparation, with an organized approach, and preferring hand brushed paint finishes over spray finishes, Fine Line Painting was established. We have introduced "green" non-toxic paint, stain, and clear finishes to our customers which offer low VOC (90) coating for all interior and exterior needs.

Our shop gives our customers the ability to have their cabinetry, furniture, doors, and other portable items be finished conveniently and professionally outside of their home. We have two wood finishing spray booths, and two spray booths where applications such as powder coats, conversion varnish/lacquer, and acrylics are performed. We are a residential-friendly painting company based in Santa Cruz County, continually working on projects from San Francisco to Monterey. We are accustoms to working with customers through all phases of the painting process including selecting paint and wood finishes, accommodating schedules, needs and specific requests.

We've had our house painted a few times since we have been here and always dread the experience given how disruptive it is and how long it can take.
In all my years I've never run into such a professionally run outfit for house painting. Eric and his team are true professionals in every detail. They take real pride in their craft, work incredibly hard and are able to overcome any obstacle thrown at them. And they do it courteously and with determination. And with attention to detail.
It was a true pleasure to work with Fine Line Painting and I highly recommend them. We will most definitely call on them in the future.

We were looking for a painter to paint the entire exterior of my 2-story home as well as do some interior walls. I found Fine Line Painting on Yelp as well as half a dozen other painters and got estimates/bids from each of them.
Joel (the project manager) was our first contact with Fine Line Painting. He was very enthusiastic and professional. He had a good eye for color and detail was a valuable creative resource. We had an idea of the colors we wanted but welcomed Joel and Eric's feedback. They worked with us to finalize our choices.
We are thrilled with the final result.
Joel and Eric's team aren't just painters. They are master craftsmen. They were meticulous. They masked and draped everything that needed it and there were no drips. Their work was exceptional. Sharp lines/edges. They were all respectful of us and our home, professional, and courteous.
Joel was on site everyday until the job was done to our satisfaction. He has a great eye for detail and addressed every concern we had. He was always approachable while on site and was easily reached by phone or text.
Fine Line Painting was not the lowest bid we got. We took a chance with Joel, Eric, and their team and are very happy with our choice and their work. I recommend Fine Line Painting without reservation.
