Renting equipment and tools isn't a sideline for us. The only business we're in is renting professional-grade tools and construction equipment to contractors, municipalities, and homeowners who value sound advice and quality rental equipment that is meticulously maintained. Our rental equipment is serviced by our experienced factory-trained mechanics every time it comes back from a rental.

Handyman Equipment Rental started in 1954 when current owner Brad Watson's father, C. Merle Watson, started Handyman Rent-A-Trailer Co. in South Portland. From the beginning, Handyman has focused on a simple philosophy; providing The Right Tools and The Right Advice to homeowners, municipalities and contractors alike. That guiding principle influences everything we do today. We love what we do and are committed to the communities we serve. At Handyman, renting equipment isn't a sideline, it's our primary reason for being in business.

Need to dry out a large area? Rent a high volume fan or blower to dry out a wet basement or rug. We rent large standard fans and carpet turbo dryers that move high volumes of air quickly and efficiently. If you need to heat a large area you might consider a kerosene heater rental. We rent kerosene space heaters from 70,000 BTUs to 350,000 BTUs. Rent a dehumidifier to remove lingering humidity after moving the majority of moisture with a high-volume fan or blower.

We rent concrete equipment for mixing, moving, pouring, and curing concrete. We offer electric and gas-powered mortar and cement mixer rentals in a range of sizes to suit your needs. We also rent concrete vibrators to help settle out air pockets and concrete curing pads to help ensure an optimal finished product. To move mixed concrete we rent tracked and wheeled concrete buggies that get the mix where you need it. Concrete mixer rental makes a tough job a lot easier than mixing by hand.

We offer pump rentals for a range of applications from emptying water from a flooded basement, ditch, or excavation sites.

We rent generators in a wide range of wattages from 2000 watt lightweight portable generators to 12,000 watt generators. Whether you need to rent a small portable generator to power a tile saw for an afternoon or are looking for a weekly generator rental to power an entire jobsite or special event, Handyman has what you need.

We rent small excavators in a variety of sizes for various digging, trenching, and general excavation projects. Our rental excavator fleet ranges from very small do-it-yourselfer mini excavators to larger professional-grade compact excavators with tilting grading buckets.
