I wish I lived around the corner from her, but I don't. So I use Safe at Home Repair & Management to help Mom protect her biggest asset, her house. I receive a quarterly inspection report with photos, customized checklists that reflect our concerns in and around the house, and recommendations when there are any issues regarding maintenance or repairs. I am not climbing a ladder. But it's hard getting someone to help out with the smallest jobs. I want to ensure my home doesn't start showing its age, that it always looks well-maintained.
Safe at Home Repair and Management was created to address a growing need: to provide professional home safety audits, residential management and maintenance services to seniors and their caregivers. In partnership with her husband Bruce, Michele Horwitz Cornwell founded this family-owned small business in 2011. Both Michele and Bruce have achieved the designation of Certified Aging in Place Specialists whose goal is to address preventative and maintenance issues to make it easier for people to care for their homes; residential upkeep and accessibility modifications are an important component of being able to successfully age-in-community.
Safe at Home Repair is an MHIC licensed home improvement contractor. We are family owned and operated, and offer general handyman services, as well as specialized aging in place modifications. Formerly Cornwell Home Repair, we built an excellent reputation on water damage troubleshooting and drywall repairs in this community since the early 1990s. Last year, to reflect the new direction that the business has taken as we've helped seniors in this area age in place, we changed our name to Safe at Home Repair.
