Home HeadQuarters provides first mortgages, low-interest, flexible home improvement loans and grants, homeowner education and counseling, and real estate and property development services to help improve Syracuse and Central New York neighborhoods. HHQ helps revitalize CNY neighborhoods through strategic formerly vacant residential and commercial property development.
Home HeadQuarters is a non-profit housing and community development organization and certified Community Development Financial Institution whose mission is to create housing opportunities in Central and Upstate New York for individuals and families and improve the communities in which they live. The organization was founded in 1996 to address the declining owner-occupancy rate and overall disinvestment in the city of Syracuse. Although Home HeadQuarters now offers a wide range of programs and services, its initial strategies focused on implementing a home improvement lending program and providing homeownership education to create new city home buyers and combat decreasing investment in city neighborhoods.
Home HeadQuarters offers a variety of commercial loans that can be used for property acquisition, property rehab and/or preservation, new construction, equipment purchase and working capital. Commercial loans are secured by: Real Estate Liens, Assignment of Contracts and Personal Guaranties. Home HeadQuarters meets the needs of underserved Central New Yorkers by providing low-interest home purchase and home improvement loans and grants, homeowner education and counseling, and real estate and property development services designed to make safe and affordable home ownership a reality.
Home HeadQuarters works to stabilize and revitalize transitional neighborhoods in the City of Syracuse and Central New York by substantially rehabilitating neglected properties, constructing new, energy-efficient homes, working to incorporate "benevolent development" into commercial and neighborhood planning efforts and removing vacant, derelict housing stock. Homeowners are a stabilizing force in our neighborhoods and HHQ's rehab and new construction activities aim to create safe, affordable housing that meet homebuyers needs.
