The Stock Pile is a non-profit home improvement reuse store that saves new and gently used building materials from going to waste in dumpsters and landfills so they can be made available to northeast Ohio residents for 1/3-1/2 of the retail cost. The Stock Pile's goal is to improve substandard housing in northeast Ohio by connecting low-to-moderate income individuals/families, those 62 years of age or older, the disabled, and/or active or veteran military members to low-cost building supplies. We believe that by coming together as a community we can ensure everyone can improve their homes and lives.
The Stock Pile is open to the public, and we offer free memberships to qualified members for even more savings and benefits. The Stock Pile does NOT require income verification. To determine if your family qualifies, use the chart below to ensure your income is below the 80th percentile of Stark County residents. Returns: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return your item within 1 business day with the receipt for store credit. The following items are NOT returnable: Paint, Upholstered Furniture, and Partially-Used Sets or Items.
Great people, huge inventory, amazing prices, incredible community asset! It is no exaggeration to say that I could never afford to have a house without The Stock Pile! I'm a single woman who is renovating a fixer-upper $55k home, doing much of the labor on my own despite physical and financial challenges. There was so much water damage to the house when I bought it (more damage than I thought) that my budget was exhausted almost immediately after replumbing and replacing rotted subfloors/ joists. This left me no funds for anything else. Luckily, I found out about The Stock Pile on Facebook. They have so many items in their inventory! I have bought baseboard, ceiling moulding, slate blue siding, antique heating grates, a wood range hood cover, fypon crossheads and keystones, kitchen cabinets, a 15' countertop, quartz slabs, granite slabs, bronze cabinet handle pulls -- they have everything! Their prices are so affordable, and if you fit the generous criteria you can become a member. Members get 25-35% off and the ability to put a 2-day hold on something they see online and like. The manager is so incredibly knowledgable about architecture, construction materials, and tools! I learn things just from reading her posts. I love communicating with her and the office staff. They respond lighting fast via messenger. The workers are kind, fun, and friendly -- even when loading 600 lb granite countertops which would test any person's level of sweetness -- they are just so awesome! The Stock Pile is such an asset to the community, and their ethics have positively influenced my own behavior and made me inclined to always try to buy recycled or reused whenever possible. I have a new ethic of "donate don't dump, " and that is largely the result of watching the good example of the people at The Stock Pile. I live almost 2 hours away, and The Stock Pile makes me wish I lived in Canton. It's probably a good thing I don't or I would be shopping here every day!
