Home Builders Association Of Jackson

Our Association was chartered in 1946. Over the years HBAJ has grown to become one of the largest local trade associations in the South, representing not only home builders and remodelers but also manufacturers, service providers and other services connected to the building industry.

Governmental Affairs is the backbone of the Home Builders Association. We are engaged in the legislative process on three fronts: local, state and national levels. Working in partnership with our state and national affiliates, the Home Builders Association of Jackson is able to provide its members with timely representation and information on building, housing and construction issues. We need to stay ahead of industry opponents and better serve our members. Our goal is to provide members with the most up-to-date analysis and advocacy on critical housing issues.

Your Home Builders Association of Jackson membership is your chance to market your business to around 600 other Metro Jackson businesses in the construction industry. That includes: residential home builders, land developers, specialty contractors, product suppliers, and business service providers. The best way to utilize your HBAJ membership is to be active! By participating in meetings, events, committees, councils, advertising and sponsorship opportunities, you will get the most out of your membership.

Dues payments to the Home Builders Association of Jackson are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, dues payments may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expense, subject to exclusion for lobbying activity. Because a portion of your HBAM dues will be used for political purposes, you may deduct all but $35.72 (42.02%) of your $85 HBAM dues and $37.62 (19%) of your $198 NAHB dues as a business expense for income tax purposes. By providing e-mail addresses and cell phone numbers, the prospective member or member understands and agrees to permit HBAJ and/or its staff to send information to the prospective member or member about events, activities or issues that the association deems to be of interest to the prospective member or member, whether the information is solicited or not.
