When WMGB Home Improvement first opened in 1984, we set out with the mission to provide exemplary home remodeling in Grand Rapids MI and the surrounding areas. Today as WMGB Home Improvement, we've expanded our services and have enjoyed more than 30 years of success in our commitment to our customers. Initially starting out providing residents with glass block basement windows, we've since then expanded to home insulation, egress window systems, replacement windows, and much more in Holland MI and Lansing.

If your Grand Rapids, MI area home as a finished basement that you like to spend some time in, like maybe a game room, or a home theatre room, or even a work room where you build and paint things, you should have a second means of escape from the basement — a basement egress. And if you have a bedroom in the basement, by law you must have an egress. Basement living space requires emergency escape and rescue openings. Your first step is to check your local Michigan building codes. Your code authority may have its own rules or it may be among the more than 90 percent of communities in the United States that adopt the standards of the International Code Council (ICC).

WMGB Home Improvement is the region's premier installer of bay and bow windows in the Grand Rapids and Western Michigan area. Bay and bow windows can beautify your living space and let in lots of natural light to complement any style home. Thanks to the protruding nature of these windows, you can expand the look and feel of any room in your home without costly renovations and wall demolition. Designed to add beauty and efficiency to any space, we give you a choice of bay or bow windows for your home.

In West Michigan, our beautiful front entry doors need protection from extreme and potentially harmful elements, like sun and bad weather. Storm doors basically act as a front door for your front door! If your front entry door is made of wood or dark colored fiberglass, the sun can really damage it by drying it out or warping it or worse. Storm doors help to provide a protective barrier from sun damage. Storm doors also protect against more extreme weather like rain or snow that can also wear away at your entry door.

Most attics are already insulated, but if the insulation levels are too low in your Western Michigan home, even attic insulation with a high R-value won't work as it should. If you step up into your attic to have a look, and can easily see your floor joists, more attic insulation is needed. An attic insulation company like WMGB Home Improvement can help you make an informed decision about the insulation in your Lansing, Holland, or Traverse City home, and if you could benefit from adding insulation to your attic, install it quickly and efficiently.

Most homeowners in Western Michigan understand that their home's insulation can affect their comfort and their energy bills, but did you know about the air sealing benefits available to your Grand Rapids, Holland, or Kalamazoo home? While there's a significant difference between the professional, comprehensive air sealing techniques that WMGB uses on your home and DIY projects such as caulking and weather-stripping, all air sealing can help make your home more energy efficient. Air leakage and ventilation are not really the same thing.

Awning windows installed by the professionals at Western Michigan Glass Block can help improve your home's ventilation, with easy operation and energy efficiency. Regardless of the weather, you can enjoy a fresh breeze by opening your awning windows, hinged at the top, and extend outward. Awning windows are much like casement windows, but instead of opening on a hinge at the side, they open on a set of hinges located at the top of the window. Typically, these windows feature a hand crank that opens the window on a metal track.

Egress casement windows are side-hinged windows that fulfill egress requirements while taking up the smallest amount of wall space in your Grand Rapids, MI home. This makes these windows work great for egress in basements or other areas where space is limited. Typically, casement egress windows and our Astro In-Swing window can be used simply by cutting down from a normal width sized basement window saving time and money in cutting the opening in the basement wall. Casement windows have a crank at the bottom of the window that allows you to "crank-open" or close the window.

Bathroom windows for your Grand Rapids home made with glass blocks can be the best solution for bathroom windows, especially those that are directly in the shower area. Glass block bathroom windows are water proof, they do not rot or warp, and they offer great privacy while letting in all of the light, so you do not need to use a curtain on your window. Glass block bathroom windows are also very low maintenance. If you do not have an exhaust fan in the bathroom or just like to get some fresh air in your bathroom once in a while there is also an air-vent option.

Patio doors are ideal for tighter spaces in your home; where a hinged door would swing into a room or out onto a deck or patio, patio doors slide open on a horizontal plane, avoiding any interference with the inside room or outside patio. Additionally, patio doors allow for significantly more light to enter your home. Patio doors offer your Kalamazoo home, and those inside it, a warmer and more open atmosphere. Patio doors also provide great ventilation - during those Grand Rapids summers you can leave that slider door open all evening long.

If you have forced air heating and cooling HVAC systems in your home, then you might be aware of ducts in your house, often in your walls and basement, that deliver conditioned air to your living spaces. But did you know that ENERGY STAR estimates that 30-40% of the air pushed through these ducts is lost due to holes, badly connected ducts, and general leaks in the system? WMGB Home Improvement offers duct sealing services for homes in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, and the surrounding areas that can help you minimize energy waste and heat loss, pay less to heat and cool your home, and breathe healthier indoor air.

An egress window is required in precise places in a house. It is designed to serve as an emergency exit. Windows have to satisfy particular requirements, including size, to pass as an egress window. For egress windows Grand Rapids MI, trust the experts at WMGB Home Improvement. We have been installing windows for over 30 years and have earned a reputation for providing superior service and excellent products. All homes need reliable ways to enter and exit in the event that an emergency arises. For most, this means simply maintaining easy access to the front and back door.

Are you tired of inconsistent temperatures and just want to be comfortable in your own West Michigan home? Do any of these common problems sound familiar? These are all symptoms of a lack of insulation. Properly installed insulation is an impenetrable barrier between the outside air and your conditioned air inside. Insulation maintains the temperature in your home throughout the year. And, in doing so, your HVAC system will work less and yield greater results, meaning increased energy savings - permanently!

Here at WMGB Home Improvement, we are the leading installers of egress windows in Grand Haven. With professional window replacement, you can beautify and add value to your home. There are many ways for West Michigan homeowners to benefit from energy-efficient home improvement work on their houses, including lower costs to run your heating and cooling system, improved and more consistent indoor comfort, and healthier indoor air quality. If the windows in your Grand Rapids home are more than 10 years old or include only single-pane glass, they could be costing you a significant amount of money every month. Studies by the U.S. Department of Energy have proven that 30% or more of a home's energy can be lost through inefficient windows and doors. When the cost of heating and cooling your home climbs higher every year, can you afford to let that money simply fly out the window? WMGB Home Improvement can make your home more comfortable while reducing energy bills by installing energy-efficient replacement windows.

WMGB Home Improvement is an expert installer of attic insulation in Muskegon, Fruitport, and the surrounding areas! We can also help you find ways to make your home energy efficient as possible using our Home Performance System to prevent heat loss and keep your home comfortable for any season! We can help you identify the issues and solve them to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient!

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, it is energy and cost-efficient to insulate your basement. Properly insulating your basement walls can save you money on heating and make for a more livable basement space. It can also help prevent moisture issues and high humidity levels that can lead to hazardous mold growth and indoor air quality issues in your house. At WMGB, our ECOCELL and spray foam basement insulation services can help you protect your basement and, by extension, the rest of your home as well.

Very friendly and helpful customer service and a great price for glass block window replacement!

These folks put an egress window in my house but we ran into problems with an unfortunate situation.hig h water table.it was at this point that the experience went "south".I found that this company kind of " cut bait" and ran. the folks seem knowledgeable, and the window is secure and doesn't look bad. What's just a bit disappointing is that they didn't seem interested in going any farther.ie. solutions to help with the high water table. so once again.the egress window work.done well.glass block windows.done well. ability to offer solutions for unforseen problems.not so great.side note.the guys had a difficult time with clean up after the job.left construction materials.

Great job! He showed up on time and did a wonderful job on our glass block window in our bathroom!
