Our story begins in 1975, when our dad started remodeling and building custom homes in the Dubuque area, establishing Ron Smith and Sons Construction. At the time, just about every job had a component of millwork or cabinetry. Some projects would be delayed, waiting for items to arrive at the work site. Then, when they arrived, they were wrong or not the quality dad had expected. What seemed to be a logical solution was to start building custom cabinetry. We did just that, working hard to maintain dad's quality standards because we knew that nothing was more important than exceeding our customers' expectations.
