The company began in the late 1940's when Bob Lockwood opened a lumberyard and designed and built the first concrete block plant in Northern New Mexico. In 1948, Lockwood Construction Company was formed to do small jobs for customers of the lumberyard and block plant. The contracting business then grew to include the design and construction of residential and commercial facilities.
