John, our owner, suggested windows at every elevation. This ended up making our open yet traditional floor plan even more beautiful and almost ethereal with the extensive natural lighting that poured in. The kitchen is the finest in its layout and detailing. The family room and screen porch, combined through cornerless pocket sliding doors, is a space that any Florida homeowner could envy. The landscaping adds to the warm, inviting Bermuda Colonial exterior. The residence is the new mark of excellence for our homes.

Perhaps our greatest design contribution to the home was our alignment of the rear yard features. The rear porch was off center with the front door, living room and pool. We designed a rear roof addition with dramatic wood ceiling that hides a concrete beam. We aligned a symmetrical vanishing edge swimming pool with the living room and rear porch which gives the home a breathtaking symmetrical vista. Beth and I were very pleased with Dennis McDonald's work before, during and after construction. I recommend them without equivocation or reservation.

This remodel was a small departure from our traditional work and gave us a great opportunity to showcase our multi-faceted talents, especially our custom woodwork. The transformation from a regular Florida look to the clean, contemporary feel that our clients desired was magical.

This is a perfect example of the team approach producing excellent results. The owner had a contemporary vision and we brought in architect Mitch O'Neil. He, along with interior designer Steve McDowell (Florida Interiors), captured the Strauss' vision. Our team executed the design flawlessly and on budget. The clean lines necessitated perfect framing. The older house had flaws that took careful examination to discern and correct. The result is another home of which all of us are very proud. On time and within budget, with an office staff that is co-operative, intelligent and conscientious, plus a field crew that is knowledgeable, competent and efficient with the pleasing attitude that there is no problem too big or too small that does not command their full attention.
