Detail: This is a custom home we designed and built to reflect the style of an old, rustic, cabin. The cabin has a loft, first floor, and basement. In order to achieve the "rustic" look, a variety of methods were used. The roofing is a new, but rustable, metal roof sheething. Reclaimed lumber was used as the main ceiling rafters, the porch framing members, and many of the details such as trim, posts, and railings. Where relcaimed lumber wasn't possible, due to structure, cost, or availability, a custom painter was able to mimic the rustic look.
