In 1987, Claris' founder, Phil Clark, obtained an architectural engineering degree from Penn State. After graduation, he worked for various companies including Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and Shankel Construction. Claris began during the 1991 recession with a rotary phone, a desk in the garage, and $100 in the bank. It grew to become one of the most well-respected successful companies in Connecticut and beyond. Claris specializes in architecture, engineering and commercial construction.
