One of the America's largest, privately-held construction firms, we pride ourselves on safety, quality, integrity and commitment. Construction is hard work - we provide challenging opportunities that encourage innovation and reward accomplishments. Our team plays a vital role in expanding business across the globe, while maintaining the high standards we've set on amazing construction projects. Walbridge offers learning and career growth opportunities. You will work with our leaders to develop a customized Individual and Career Development Plan.
We've formed partnerships where our technical expertise, required by a client, meshes with our partner's in-depth knowledge of the local subcontractor market. Or, our financial strength and back-office systems combine smoothly with a smaller partner's on-the-ground capabilities. Walbridge has successfully completed projects in the United States and globally with several excellent partners. One is Devon Industrial Group. Devon has grown from a small minority business enterprise (MBE) founded in the Midwest, into a sizeable construction firm (with revenue exceeding $100 million per year) capable of performing work throughout the United States and Canada.
Walbridge has been led during the past century by seven individuals. Each had a desire to succeed and exhibited strengths that propelled them to the top of the organization. Things like toughness, tolerance for risk, resilience, and stepping up when the time came. They also reminded generations of Walbridge employees not to lose sight of key attributes established by our founders, George Walbridge and Albert Aldinger. These are honesty, integrity, credibility, trust, and a passion for building. Michael Haller, P.E., is Chief Executive Officer for Walbridge, a full-service construction company, that was founded in Detroit in 1916.
Walbridge is a full-service construction company headquartered in Detroit and has built projects both big and small in geographic locations ranging from Midland, Michigan to Chennai, India. Our company has managed projects with budgets ranging from a few million dollars to more than $1 billion. Yet, in February 1945 one of our workers made $12.65 worth of fence alterations for a long-standing client, McLouth Steel. That level of service and dedication to clients still means something to us. We relish the challenge of turning the owner's vision to physical reality.
Walbridge delivers exceptional benefits to customers through a mixture of innovation and proven processes in the construction industry. So what makes Walbridge different from construction companies around the globe? We consider ourselves partners in our clients' success. Our only goal is to continue to see our clients' success and it's imperative that we provide that through uncompromising honesty and integrity. Since Walbridge's founding in 1916, we've continued relationships, with some of our earliest clients and some new, all with the goal of providing a safe, cost-efficient project done in a timely manner.
Before the first shovel hits the ground, owners, builders and designers need one thing - a well-conceived and thoroughly reviewed plan. Strong pre-construction experience makes a big difference. With it, you can identify and solve a problem before the project begins rather than deal with it at the peak of construction activity. From complex greenfield industrial projects to a facility renovation, pre-construction is imperative to reduce risk, identify and resolve issues, and account for costs. No two new buildings are alike and thorough understanding of every detail is critical.
Our self-perform equipment installation teams are skilled subject matter experts in providing full-service equipment installation with skilled millwrights and ironworkers. Walbridge Industrial Process self-perform capabilities also include full-service concrete installation to provide a seamless project experience.
Walbridge is consistently among the nation's largest contractors for construction and expansion of Steel & Non-Ferrous Metal plants. We understand that new technology often requires installation of thousands of tons of equipment and aggressive scheduling. We also know that our clients cannot benefit from any new technological marvels until the work is completed and equipment is ready to roll. With self-performing concrete installation and heavy rigging and hauling, Walbridge is ideally suited to lead effective efforts on very complex projects.
Constructing some of the largest manufacturing facilities in the world demands superior attention to detail and serious know-how. Walbridge brings both of those skills to bear in building state of the art facilities for rail car manufacturers, steel tube makers and military vehicle builders. We staff these projects with experienced project managers, diligent safety supervisors, and superintendents who know how to work with skilled trades people to deliver project success to our clients. Walbridge and its joint venture partner, Yates Construction teamed to build a 2.1 million-square-foot behemoth of a railcar manufacturing plant.
As one of America's leading manufacturing contractors, Walbridge knows the level of quality and responsiveness customers require for their big ticket projects. With vast experience in constructing for the agriculture, building products, solar technology and general manufacturing markets, we thrive on complex projects and utilizes time-tested processes to complete projects safely and with maximum efficiency.
Technologies used to deliver a shiny, durable paint job to a brand-new vehicle are changing. So are the requirements for constructing an impressive, efficient paint shop that's environmentally friendly. Every year, Walbridge expands its extensive base of knowledge in constructing paint shops for global auto manufacturers. We've been doing it non-stop for several decades, which allows a continually improved process. What also plays a major role is pre-construction management: aligning a customer's plans for utilizing the new plant and equipment with the necessary construction cycle.
The details are important in these projects, as certain rooms could require precise temperatures, lighting, humidity or irrigation. As a process-driven organization, we've found success by paying attention to details and having best practices in place. Walbridge provided general contracting services for the expansion of Syngenta's corn and soybean research and development (R&D) facility. In order to meet growing demand for high-performing corn seed products, Walbridge was contracted by Monsanto to erect two 10-bin.
