Erick serves as Controller of Grunley leading the daily operations of our Accounting Department. With 20 years of experience in the department, Erick specifically oversees financial management and reporting, payroll, accounts payable and job cost administration. Chris joined Grunley in 1990 and has served as Director of Field Operations since 2001. A skilled Journeyman Carpenter and former Superintendent, he is responsible for the overall management of our field labor, including -125 carpenters, masons and laborers who self-perform key elements of our work.
Community service is an integral part of Grunley's corporate culture. We are actively involved in our local communities and regularly contribute to charitable causes. Each year, Grunley and its employees volunteer hundreds of service hours and contribute generously, both individually and collectively, to a variety of important philanthropic initiatives. Our volunteer activities range from serving meals to the homeless to mentoring high school students to providing construction services to small, local non-profits in need of assistance.
Ken began his construction career in 1974 as a son working at his father's construction company. Fast forward to today, Ken is the owner of the family business. As our CEO, Ken leads the development and execution of Grunley's long-term overall strategy, primarily as it relates to our business units, coaching and mentoring company stakeholders at all levels, new initiatives asset allocation, and most importantly, creating broad cohesion within an aligned culture for the next generation of leaders at Grunley.
How a project starts lays the foundation for how it finishes. This is the overarching principle that guides Grunley's preconstruction services. Our Preconstruction Department consists of individuals with extensive experience in both design and construction, working in concert with the customers, designers and engineering professionals. We offer a variety of preconstruction services ranging from scope development, virtual design coordination, and BIM modeling to conceptual estimating, value engineering and site logistics planning.
