This project utilized a team build approach to help the client achieve a tight timeframe to have the new manufacturing facility constructed and producing product. The project site selected was the former lite gage steel manufacturing plant in Botetourt County. The scope of work included renovating 11,850 SF of the existing metal facility and a new 32,800 SF addition to house the fabrication shop. Office space totaling 4,600 SF was also included in the addition. The expansion allows for future growth to manufacture 100-ton electrical transformers.

The addition of Construction Management to our service offering was a natural expansion to our existing services, which include end to end planning, coordination and project control. Turner Long Construction is an experienced Design/Build general contractor. Many clients have asked us to help them conduct a thorough needs analysis and develop a facility to fit their requirements. After taking the steps to understand our client's goals, we will typically recommend several highly qualified architects for our clients to interview. Upon selection of the architect to the project team, the design is commenced and Turner Long Construction professionals begin the pre-construction services that will ensure a successful project from schematic design through close-out.

We led the charge in the early 1980s, perfecting the pre-construction activities that are integral to the team-build approach. Being involved during the design of a project, we are able to utilize our diverse construction professional's expertise to ensure a successful project.
