E.P. Gates Construction & Realty was founded by Gattis Gates in 1916, and was handed down to his son Earl Paris Gates. Eighty years later, in 1996, the company was bought by his grandson Chuck Talley. Together with his wife, Jennifer, the Talleys expanded the business into something much more diverse and dynamic than what the company started as. They have been active members in the Graham community throughout the years, serving on platforms such as the Graham City Council and Graham Historic Commission.
