There are many reasons you might wish to have electricians improve or expand the lighting for the outside of your home. Better outdoor lighting helps to make a home more secure and safe, and it can even be integrated as part of a security system. More lights will help you get increased used out of recreational areas, like a patio, veranda, or pool. Replacing older lights with LED lights will help cut down on electrical bills. And the proper lighting retro-fit will look almost as good as extensive remodeling-but without the steep construction costs!

Have you ever thought about how much the lighting inside your home affects you on a daily basis? It isn't enough to simply have sufficient lighting (although that is definitely important!). Appropriate lighting creates a better place to live, work, and play. Quality professional lighting enhances mood, elevates safety, and adds beauty. Re-doing the lights in your home is actually a great way to "remodel" the interior without having to pay for real construction work. It takes electricians who specialize in lighting to make a real difference, however.

Thermostats are very often the most overlooked part of a home comfort system. This is understandable given that they are the smallest component involved. However, as the brain of your HVAC system, these devices hold a lot of importance. Therefore, you need a thermostat that's working correctly in order to have a properly functioning HVAC system. To ensure you have the right thermostat, and that it's properly installed and calibrated, only trust experienced professionals. Hutchins Plumbing & Air Conditioning has been in business for over 40 years and has been providing comprehensive thermostat services for homes in Plano, TX and surrounding areas.

It's easy to assume that your drainpipes are in good condition when you don't notice any drain clogs. However, drain blockages typically develop slowly over time, not all at once. Residue sticks to the inside of your pipes, and debris clings to the lining, gathering until it develops into a major clog. Many plumbers use long drain snakes to remove large blockages, but this isn't always the best method, especially when your pipes may be lined with sticky residue. That's why we use water jetting to clean out the entire length of the drain and sewer pipes.

Good indoor air quality is something that's often hard to achieve in your home, especially when the weather outside is either too hot or too cold to open any of your windows or doors. Contaminants can begin to build up in your home without any way to escape. Hutchins Plumbing & Air Conditioning in Plano, TX provides solutions for air quality problems with various air quality systems. These systems include air filtration, air purifiers, and humidifiers. We also offer various services that help to improve your indoor air quality, such as duct repair and replacement, duct testing, and duct sealing.

Flooding into basements and crawlspaces of homes is something that can occur even in places such as Plano, TX. A simple plumbing accident can result in torrents of water gushing into the lower parts of a house and causing extensive damage. The best way to plan for these disastrous events is to have a plumbing installation that will automatically remove the water: a sump pump. Finding the right sump pump for your home and having it installed is easy when you call on Hutchins Plumbing & Air Conditioning.

If you're familiar with plumbing systems and their configurations, then you know that your drain and sewer system is rather complex. Each of the appliances and fixtures in your home that use water must have drains that send water to the drainage system. There are traps underneath each fixture to make sure that the sewage smell doesn't make its way back up to your home. Each drain leads to a drain line which then leads to the main sewer line that goes underneath your home and toward the city's sewer system (or a septic tank, if you have one).

Texas is definitely known for its heat, as residents of this state are well aware. However, winter nights are nothing to laugh at. Whether you are in the market for a boiler or considering upgrading to a ductless system, we have the products, services, and expertise necessary to serve you. Every home should have at least one smoke detector installed in it, and most should have more than one. Calling for professionals to put in smoke detectors for your household will help ensure you have devices that are sensitive enough to always go off with necessary, but won't constantly aggravate you with repeated false alarms. If your house already has detectors installed, it's important to know how to check and maintain them so that professionals can be called to handle repairing or replacing them when something goes wrong.

There are parts of a plumbing system that are necessary in order to protect the property and the community. You usually don't need to worry about having these components installed: they are placed into the plumbing during the initial construction of the building. One of the most important of these plumbing devices is the backflow preventer. This valve prevents the contamination of potable water through the backflow that can occur when the freshwater side of the plumbing loses pressure. Without a backflow preventer, unhealthy contamination of the water supply would be a significant problem.

Tank water heaters are the conventional units you likely think of first when someone brings up water heater units. The large tank is necessary because it stores hot water so that when you turn on the hot water in your home, it's ready and waiting to be delivered to the faucet. Of course, you probably already know that a tank water heater is not the only system available on the market. By now, many people have heard that tankless water heaters are a good alternative to the standard tank model. That does not mean, however, that a tankless water heater is the best option for your home.

The sewer line that runs underneath your home is not something that pops into your head very often, mainly because it's probably not a part of your home you really want to think about. However, when a major drain clog inconveniences your home, you might be stuck dealing with slow-moving drains or perhaps even a bit of raw sewage backup. You need fast service when your sewer line backs up, and Hutchins Plumbing & Air Conditioning can answer the phone 24 hours a day. We're here for you with quality tools and well-trained techs who can show up quickly to help get your drain and sewer lines back to normal.

The plumbing system in a home consists of two halves. One half is the freshwater system that carries water from the municipal supply and to the various faucets, appliances, and other fixtures throughout the house. The other half is the drains and drainpipes that carry wastewater and solid waste out through a sewer pipeline and either to the civic sewer system or to a septic tank. If there are problems with your drains or the sewer line, it can mean major trouble that will make your home unpleasant and unhygienic.

The bathrooms in a house use more water per day than the kitchen, but the kitchen is still one of the places that has the most extensive amount of pipes, fixtures, and appliances. It's an important room as well, both as a place for food preparation and as for socializing. To keep the plumbing in the kitchen in the best shape possible, whether that means routine maintenance or full replacements of sinks and other installations, always rely on professional plumbers. At Hutchins Plumbing & Air Conditioning, our slogan is Get It Done Right.

Hutchins installed new central heat and air for me in a rental property we have in Sherman. We received multiple bids. Not only were they competitively priced but they also clearly explained why they made recommendations. They were highly responsive and kept me updated throughout the project.

Called Hutchins to look into outdoor faucet that had very low water pressure after the freeze. Technician came and replaced a part and charged $175. I reconnected the hose timer that I have used for several years, now that it's Spring. Few days later, it was leaking at the part the technician installed. The technician came back and said that I cannot use hose timers and that the faucet needs to be kept shut all the time and refused to fix it. The same faucet worked fine with the timer for two years until the tech changed the part. So much for the sprinkler timer industry that relies on attaching the timers to the faucet! Now I am out the cost and without a functioning faucet.

Hutchins replaced my faucet on my bathtub in October. The faucet was leaking, and the company sent a plumber out to check it out. The owner was very helpful, and very honest in getting my issue fixed. Definitely recommend.

The emergency call was for the cold water valve on our tankless water heater. It broke after a DYI maintenance flash which required the water shut off to the whole entire house on Saturday. They arrived Sunday am, assessed the problem and scheduled a return Monday am. Arrived Monday am at the committed time (this is important) and had us back up and running within an hour. Fantastic service with many thanks to Gann.

Not a good experience. Quoted one price to me, charged my husband $200 more. Plumber came unprepared for a job he estimated...and had to use my husband's tools. I had to pay a handy man to fix and finish installed the dryer vent on the outside of my house. He took about 10 hours to do a 3-4 hour job. He was too busy on his phone taking care of personal business. Super disappointed in the work done. Think twice!

We've used these guys many times as we live in an older home that seemed to have hit that point that it needed several things repaired/ replaced in a short period of time. They have always been prompt, courteous and do a thorough job. They take care to not track in dirt/ mud when going in and out of the house and left everything clean upon completion. We've had leaks, a water heater replaced and a repaired section of pipe replaced in the wall. Multiple different service calls over the past couple of years (new problem each time) and I've never had a problem with their work. Are the prices a little high? I don't think they are any higher than the other companies. We've had similar repairs done by other companies at similar pricing. Plumbing repairs are costly and if you haven't had any done before, it can be a bit of a shell-shock. But Hutchins is on par with everyone else so it's an industry thing. Unless you have friend/ family member that can do it for you, you can expect to pay $200-$300 for seemingly basic leak repairs, etc. with pretty much any reputable plumbing company. If you find someone drastically cheaper, you should probably question their credentials unless of course it's someone you know. Plumbing is something you want done right!
