When I was five, my father gave me a tool belt, complete with a hammer and a screwdriver. I hammered everything in our home that I could reach, including some things that shouldn't have been hammered. Ever since that day, building has been my passion. Besides the love I have for my kids, it's what I live for. I took my first construction job with a small general contractor in Sylva, about one hour west of Asheville. I eventually interviewed for a supervisor position with a larger general contractor in Asheville.

One of our customers had a double-knee replacementseveral years after we built a custom home for him. Shortly after his surgery, the Asheville area was hit with a nasty snowstorm, and he lost power. Not sure where to turn, he called us and asked if there was any way we could get a generator out to his home and connect it for temporary power.
