J.W. York Homes

JW York Homes is a home building team founded by Jared W York and is located in Athens GA. Jared started out as a custom home builder focusing on energy efficient and environmentally friendly home building. Over the years we have grown into a builder of communities and infill projects in the North East Georgia area. We now have communities and new homes for sale that are move in ready in several areas. Those years of building and innovating on custom projects allowed Jared to create a system of building practices and products that produce a home that is attractive, functional, and efficient.

JW York Homes is committed to participating in our industry trade organizations as well as giving back to our community. JW York Homes has been named AAHBA Builder of the Year in 2014,2015, and 2016 as well as Supporter of the Year in 2016. Jared York served as President of the AAHBA from 2013 to 2016 and remains an active board member today. JW York Homes was recently named 2017 Jackson EMC Right Choice Builder of the Year. Our projects have been awarded for numerous Historic Preservation awards for both new construction in historic districts and historic renovations.

We have worked with 3rd party energy raters to help us ensure our homes tight, efficient, and have good indoor air quality. Many of our custom homes have featured solar installations, spray foam insulation, heat pump water heaters, and Geothermal or high Seer HVAC systems. We have experience qualifying for programs such as Energy Star and Earth Craft. Many of our homes have scored less than 50 on the HERS scale. Through our experience in building these homes we have learned to view the home as a system.
