At Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, we were founded on the conviction that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Thirty-five years later, we're even more passionate about Louisville's affordable housing need. By bringing people together, we provide affordable housing solutions to local families in need. Through homeownership, home repair and community development, we transform lives and revitalize neighborhoods.

Habitat's Community Development and Home Repair Program (CDR) is focused on the East Portland neighborhood. In recent years, the Portland neighborhood has experienced economic growth with several businesses relocating to the neighborhood, however, residents are still struggling to overcome serious health and financial challenges to remain in their homes. Together, we're empowering Portland residents to become the stewards of their homes and the leaders of their neighborhood by providing the tools necessary to improve their quality of life.

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville brings people together to build homes, community and hope through affordable housing solutions of homeownership, community development and home repair. Since 1985, Habitat Louisville has been bringing our community together to build stable homes, strong relationships and healthy neighborhoods. Our homeownership program empowers low-income families to invest in themselves and invest in their communities. By providing a hand up, not a hand out, our homebuyers can build a path towards financial stability and a brighter future.

At the ReStore, our main priority is to protect the health and safety of our donors, customers, volunteers and staff. We're following and continuing to monitor Governor Beshear and the CDC's guidelines. The Habitat ReStore is a non-profit thrift store and donation center of gently used furniture, appliances, building materials and more. The proceeds from our two store locations are reinvested into our mission to help local families build stable, affordable housing in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville.

What's new?

"We have different incomes, family sizes, backgrounds and homeowner histories but we all want the same thing... to have a safe, stable home where we can raise our children."
