At our plastering department in Ottawa Lake, MI, our plasterers are committed to providing high quality on-time installations of EIFS, direct-applied finish systems, BASWA Phon and other acoustical plaster applications. Our experience also includes Venetian and other specialty plaster applications.
Acoustical finishes are sound-rated interior texture finishes for ceilings and non-contact surfaces. An acoustical plaster finish is applied over base coat plaster, concrete or gypsum panels. It has enhanced acoustical properties, can reduce reverberation and is used to control interior sound levels. An acoustical plaster can provide sound absorption that conforms to any shape, including curved, domed or vaulted ceilings. They can achieve a rating of up to NRC 1.00. Venetian plaster has been used to finish interior walls since ancient times, primarily in Italy, Greece and Egypt.
Many building codes require fireproofing protection to structural steel as a safety precaution. The most common way to provide such protection in the U.S. is by spraying low, medium and high density cementitious compounds, now called spray-applied fire-resistive material (SFRM). These products can be sprayed on steel to provide heat resistance and some also can be applied over wood, fabric and other building materials. Building codes and UL Designs dictate the required thickness of the application.
