We want to help you get the most out of your energy dollars, sowe offer various programs and rebates to encourage energy efficiency. Rebates are paid in the form of an energy credit applied directly to the member's account. A key aspect of our rebate programs is the use of a load management switch (also called a radio-controlled switch or RCS) on water heaters, geothermal units, heat pumps, and air conditioning unitsto reduce the overall demand for electricity during peak times.
An efficient and well-insulated water heater ensures that you'll have plenty of hot water read when you need it (with minimal energy used to store the hot water). A member replacing an existing water heater will be eligible for reimbursement of up to half of the purchase price, not to exceed $200.00. To apply for the rebate, keep a copy of your purchase receipt and submit or bring in to our offices. Please call if you have any questions about the rebate program! By moving heat in the air to a desired destination, a heat pump provides a convenient option for both heating and cooling. New heat pump installations are eligible for a $400 energy credit. Rebate includes ductless or mini-split heat pumps. A radio-controlled switch (RCS) will be provided by the cooperative to be installed by the new unit's contractor. Use the earth's heat to your advantage. A geothermal unit is one of the most ecient and environmentally-friendly forms of heating/cooling. New geothermal installations are eligible for a $800 energy credit from Mid-Ohio Energy.
