FBi Buildings was founded in 1958 by Edwin Bahler. Since then we have built more than 20,000 post frame buildings (or pole barns as our customers like to call them). Known initially as Farm Builders, we primarily focused on serving the agricultural market. When the demand for post frame started to grow, we realized that we needed to expand our business. Over time, we started building more commercial, residential, and equine buildings. We also started seeing a demand for building repairs and renovations, and have our very own crews dedicated to serving that market.
If you work in the trades and need a flexible building space to help you move efficiently between jobs, a post frame building is for you. With our open, adaptable, and multi-use floor plans, your business will have the space it needs to grow. Not only does a post frame building give you nearly endless choices of flexible layouts, but it also gives you a high return on investment. That's because they don't require as many load-bearing walls to achieve structural integrity, which means less material costs, less time spent framing, and less labor.
Do you already have a property and are ready to put up a commercial pole barn building? Or, are you needing input about site preparation to ensure you have the best building location for your commercial post frame project. From retail, industrial and warehouse buildings, municipalities, and even dealerships, we will work with our in-house designers and engineers to ensure your design process runs smoothly. If you need further assistance, we can also work closely with you on site planning, permitting and zoning, code requirements, and more.
You work hard for the finer things in life, and we understand that those valuable possessions that keep your lifestyle moving forward should be protected when they're at rest. Stronger than a traditional, stick-built garage, our pole barn garages are not only long-lasting, they're also attractive. Your garage is often an extension of the aesthetic of your home, and it can be designed to accommodate any number of options and finished with virtually any material, from steel to brick or stone, and even cedar or vinyl siding.
When you need unique floor plans to meet your everyday needs, as well as outstanding energy efficiency for long-term savings, choose an expert with over 60 years of experience in post frame construction. Our warehouse and industrial buildings provide you with valuable design flexibility because we use wood frames with widely spaced columns, maximizing space, and doorways. We use engineered, clear-span trusses that do not require interior load-bearing walls. This gives you the design flexibility to maximize your warehouse and manufacturing space.
Dealerships throughout the Midwest turn to us because our energy efficient buildings offer the solutions they're looking for. From curb appeal to a welcoming interior, every dealership wants to showcase its products and services in the right light. That's why a post frame building is ideal for auto, farm equipment, and implements, seed, service garages, and more. We use engineered, clear-span trusses that do not require interior load-bearing walls. This gives you the design flexibility to maximize your showroom space, as well as place your windows and doors virtually anywhere for more natural light and showroom appeal.
Your retail possibilities are wide open with post frame. No two retail business owners are alike, so their retail buildings shouldn't be either. When you choose post frame for your retail space, you get all the long-term durability you require, plus flexible floor plans and exterior options to suit your needs. Post frame construction is the ideal solution for many retail owners because windows and doors can be placed virtually anywhere. That means design flexibility to accommodate everything from a large showroom to a service garage, warehouse, and more.
