In 1978, Bob McDowell founded McDowell & Associates as a geotechnical firm with a focus on heavy construction. McDowell has worked closely with industrial and commercial clients in Michigan, on various types of projects since our firm's founding. We have provided a full range of Environmental and Construction services to industrial, commercial and residential clients since 1978. As of March 2009, McDowell has completed over 34,000 projects in fourteen (14) states, Africa, Argentina, Chad, Chile, Germany, Greece, Japan, Korea, and Mexico.
What makes our services different from other engineering and/or environmental consulting firms? Our answer would be our professional engineers' experience as well as that of our staff. On a daily basis, our engineers are looking at sites that may have environmental concerns, or geotechnical concerns, or construction material issues. Our engineers are expert at determining the suitability of land for cost effective development. McDowell & Associates has extensive Geotechnical Engineering experience. We maintain a computerized index of every subsurface investigation made since 1978. The resulting database provides quick access to subsurface information throughout southeast Michigan and often allows for more cost effective solutions. Our staff of highly experienced engineers routinely work on hundreds of geotechnical projects per year.
