At HSR Associates, we are a full service Architectural, Engineering and Interior Design firm. We are proud to have registered professional architects, engineers and designers who have embraced technological advances such as Revit/BIM and are committed to developing project design using our sustainable design capabilities. We offer total attention to every detail of your project, and you can relax knowing that we'll make every effort needed to identify problems and solutions before completing the design process.

At HSR, we provide system analysis and design in heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing and fire protection disciplines. Mechanical equipment components such as boilers, cooling towers, air compressors and fire extinguishing systems are efficiently designed to meet your specific needs and budget. In addition, initial cost and life cycle cost alternatives are investigated. Our HVAC system designs include products and systems that provide the best comfort while considering long term operating and maintenance concerns.

HSR Interior Designers stay up-to-date and educated on new innovations, products and performance standards in order to offer and provide the best design solutions. We incorporate the appropriate application and stability of finish materials, furniture, lighting, technology, signage and way-finding to create environments suitable for productivity, efficiency and expansion. We also offer interior design, space planning, furniture layout and furniture design as stand-alone services for those clients who may be considering occupying space in an existing building or may be looking at expanding or rearranging their existing space.

We originated in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1953 as Robert B. Hackner, Architect. Our name has evolved over the years to Hackner Schroeder & Associates, and then Hackner Schroeder Roslansky & Associates, we later condensed our name to HSR Associates, Inc. We are firmly established as a leading architectural, engineering and interior design firm, providing professional services for education and medical facilities, civic and government projects and various commercial enterprises. We are known for providing an outstanding product and for producing quality, sustainable projects.

Our in-house electrical engineers and designers provide lighting, power and communication engineering and design services. This involves the analysis of existing facilities, fixture design specifications and computer/communication system networking including uninterrupted power distribution design and emergency power system design. We work with a number of vendors to incorporate low voltage, networking, fire alarm and security systems.
