Burton Construction, Inc. is not merely a project management firm. We are a true contractor with a strong track record of providing high quality construction services with our own skilled craftsmen. From a single owner-operator in 1978, our BCI Team has grown to 10 project managers, 14 administrative support staff and field personnel consisting of 10 superintendents and between 25 to 50 skilled craftsmen. In addition to our in-house BCI Team, we continue to grow and maintain a large database of highly qualified subcontractors in every field of construction that partner with us on our many projects across the United States.
Over 95% of the construction services we provide are public works projects for State and Federal Agencies. In Washington State the majority of our projects are performed locally though a Job Order Contract (JOC) with Spokane Public Schools, throughout Eastern Washington through JOCs with the Department of Enterprise Services and Washington State University, and in Western Washington through JOCs with the Port of Seattle and Port of Everett. Additionally, we have other projects through our participation in small works rosters with Spokane County and Spokane International Airport and other entities in Washington State.
Burton Construction, Inc. is first and foremost a builder. We own tools and employ the personnel capable of using them. Our success in constructing projects from the ground up is reliant on the best Estimators, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Craft Labor in the industry. Our Superintendents have worked up through the ranks as craft laborers gaining both the knowledge and experience necessary to lead on site. In addition, nearly all of BCI's Estimators and Project Managers have gained their experience working out in the field.
Ensuring that additions, alterations, or renovations provide a perfect fit to the existing structures are challenging projects for a general contractor. The chances of running into unforeseen site conditions greatly increases when walls are removed, roofing is pulled back, or floors are demolished. Burton Construction, Inc. has decades of experience, self-performing these projects. Our lengthy experience allows us to anticipate some conditions during the bidding and estimating process minimizing change orders and time extensions after award.
