KDG Construction-Consulting

As a World War II and Korean War veteran who attended USC's School of Architecture on the GI Bill, Robert Kennard founded The Kennard Design Group in 1957. The firm, which provided architecture and planning services, became one of the largest and oldest African-American architectural firms in Los Angeles. The Kennard Development Group, dba KDG Construction Consulting (KDG), a derivative of the Kennard Design Group, was established by Mr. Kennard's daughter, Lydia Kennard, in 1980 and incorporated in 1984.

For over 30 years, KDG Construction Consulting has provided construction and program management services for a variety of projects throughout California, spanning the aviation, utilities and affordable housing sectors. From concept to completion, we manage all aspects of the construction process. Since its inception, KDG has developed and refined methods and procedures to efficiently control time, cost and quality on behalf of a large list of public and institutional owners. Our construction managers, project control specialists, inspectors and project support professionals have proven experience and bring a variety of construction expertise to every project.

KDG has served as the owner's representative for public and investor-owned utilities over the last 20 years. We provide construction management services for utility projects to support Water Resources, Electrical Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Corporate Facilities, Renewable Energy Sources, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure. KDG works with utility project managers to identify the core requirements and exclusions that fall inside and outside of project's scope.
