Nicholas Silicz began his family-managed construction business in 1987 with a focus on commercial water and sewer installations in the Kern River Valley. As the trend of work expanded to Bakersfield and the surrounding areas, he incorporated as Nicholas Construction. The company filled the need for environmental clean-ups, removing underground fuel tanks throughout California. In 1995, a $500,000 water project for the Cuyama Community Services District in Santa Barbara County set the company on a new path of serving the municipal water and public works construction market.
