When our clients are looking for a building partner to bring their ideas to fruition, especially in the high performance building space, we bring our highly-skilled carpenters and project managers on site. Whether it be enclosing your project or taking on a few full General Contracts, our build services offer you access to a partner centered on success. When working a general contracting project, our build team are the guys who'll schedule the project, give you a detailed cost breakdown, procure windows, doors, roofing, and finish materials; they'll supervise any subcontractors involved and see to a multitude of details.

Together our designers, timberwrights, engineers, and craftspeople custom design and craft energy-efficient shelters especially for you and your project needs. Timber framing offers flexibility in style, design, and finishes- we've curated some examples here organized by content, not project. Gathering images from a variety of projects and asking us to blend ideas makes total sense. We hope you find these collections inspiring and enjoyable! And if you have questions about a particular project that we don't answer in the captions, send us an email with the gallery name and photo number so we can chat.

Our NEWwoodworks craftsmen have fabbed the most challenging cabinetry, doors, stairs, and furniture for over 20 years. Their experience with reclaimed material (should you need it) and the challenges of custom woodworking in timber frames makes them an indispensable partner in many projects. Let's talk about your woodworking project. Though all of our projects are custom, browsing our portfolio is a great place to be inspired for your space.

From our studio-shops in New York and Oregon we design, craft, and build custom homes, buildings, and enclosures throughout North America. To learn more about past projects, our team, our ethos, or locations be sure to delve deeper. We love a good conversation and look forward to hearing from you! This is our genesis and our heart. We have spent three decades creating a balance of craft, efficiency, and engineering. We are focused on delivering the best timber frame in the industry. And deliver is the key word.

Partnering with builders and architects around the country to incorporate mass timber into their projects is our specialty. Whether it be crafting curved glulams for a residential timber frame home, manufacturing and installing commercial glulams for industrial spaces, or sequencing and raising Cross Laminated Timbers (CLTs), our crew of craftsman work to make your project go smoothly from start to finish. Let's talk timber technology. Mass Timber, a catch phrase perhaps, but one that encompasses big-unnaturally so at times- "timbers" including glulams and CLTs.

Our design + build team focuses on creating custom structures designed specifically for the site, the people, and the purpose. Our specialty is incorporating timber frames into highly-efficient heirloom homes that serve the planet well. Detailed craftsmanship, quality materials, and the ability to, listen to, and design for, client wants and needs are what allow our houses to be loved for generations. Working together with our engineering group and the timber frame shop, we can integrate architectural design, structural engineering, and timber frame joinery into a seamless operation that begins with concept sketches and a site visit, then continues through to construction documents and well beyond raising day.

Timber framing is our heart, it's the craft we've been honing for more than 30 years. A day at a raising still lifts a lot more than a post and beam. The process of timber framing starts with design. If you're already working with an architect or design professional then you'll talk with our timber engineers. If you don't yet have a design partner, you'll chat with our design & build team. Either way, we can be your timber frame partner, integrating into your project as needed. Let's talk timber.
