The Far Niente Pavilion is an outdoor space encompassing living, dining and kitchen areas. The phase "far niente" refers to the Italian art of doing nothing, when life has a slow, languid pace. On a beautiful day, where better to experience far niente than in this open-air pavilion with its gorgeous country view and inviting pool. Our design is inspired by the town of Lerici, one of several seaside towns perched on cliffs overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia on the Italian Riviera. Designed in a relaxed, chic summerhouse style with a mix of contemporary and traditional, the space incorporates four key design elements: an open floor plan with an inside/outside flow to the pool and outside seating area; simple, clean comfortable furniture; fabrics and finishes that can withstand the elements; and a fully functional kitchen.
