The Very Thing, Ltd. was founded in 1926 as the Neese-Shoffner Furniture Company. With a reputation as the North Carolina Piedmont area's premier furniture store, Neese-Shoffner sold only the finest in home furnishings and accessories. In 1974, it was reincorporated as The Very Thing, Ltd., and soon became known for its fine antique furnishing and interior design. Today, The Very Thing serves clients in the Southeast and is renowned for offering custom draperies and upholstery, unique antique furniture, unusual lamps and chandeliers.
