Mountain Rug Mills was originally started by John Boss as a braided rug manufacturing company in Amboy, Illinois. He moved the company to North Carolina in the late 1940's and started manufacturing at Fletcher, N. C. in 1952. Gill Morgan started work with the company in 1973 as Controller. Gill and Judy, his wife, purchased the company in 1994 and relocated it to Hendersonville, North Carolina in 1999. After 44 years of making rugs for clients all over the world, including the White House, they retired at the end of 2017.
