Founded by a team of landscape architects in 1970, Daft McCune Walker provided professional landscape architecture, land planning, and site design services. In the 1980's, the company added civil engineering, surveying and environmental services. While headquartered in Baltimore, DMW opened a second office in Frederick, Maryland in 2006.
The civil engineers at DMW work closely with our in-house environmental specialists, surveyors, land planners and landscape architects to design grading, storm drain, stormwater management, flood plain, site, road, water, sewer, sediment and erosion control, and utility plans. In addition, we actively represent clients at zoning and public information hearings, and apply our in-depth experience in working with county, state and federal agencies to secure permit approvals quickly and efficiently.
Landscape architecture is an integral part of DMW's multi-disciplinary approach to land planning. Together with our team of environmental specialists and engineers, our experienced landscape architects provide site designs for urban, residential, institutional, commercial, historic preservation, and industrial uses. Our landscape architects develop thoughtful site design and detailing, assist with plant sourcing and selection, prepare construction documents and oversee project construction. We also provide design solutions for ornamental fountains, pools, ponds, stone work, brick masonry, fencing, special pavement, signage, lighting and retaining walls.
