The condition and general operation of the vessel is examined including structural integrity, electrical systems, propulsion systems, fuel systems, water systems, other machinery, navigation equipment, on-board systems, electronics, safety gear, cosmetic appearance and overall maintenance. Both an out of the water inspection and a sea-trial are performed. Trawlerfest 2020-wow, my first virtual speaking event. I got some kind comments and some questions but it was hard not to be able to interact with the participants. I am looking forward to an in-person Trawlerfest in March in Stuart, Florida (one of my all time favorite towns).
This time of year we are careful not to survey when the boat is frozen. Frozen fiberglass sounds a lot like good fiberglass. The moisture meter doesn't respond well to low temperatures either.
