The Boundary Survey is the basis of all recordable surveys and applies to all types of real property ranging from urban residential lots to rural farms and acreage. On larger tracts of land, clients often request to have their property lines "cut-out and marked." This involves manually cutting the brush along the property lines, and "hacking" or "blazing" two horizontal chop marks on significant trees within an "arms reach" of the property line. The "hack" marks will scar over, and the line trees can be found many years after the survey was performed.
