At WGK, Inc., we solve problems. Specializing in the design of creative and sustainable solutions through civil engineering, we serve as a guide to Mississippi communities and industries seeking to improve their infrastructure and abilities to meet the demands of tomorrow, targeting specific areas of need and growth like water, wastewater, transportation and project management. The diversity of the projects we take on allows great room for growth and excellence by our professionals. No one at WGK will be encased in a cube: our team approach involves every member in planning and design, client assistance and relationship development and on-site visits and contractor coordination.
The path to improvement and growth is often blocked, by inefficient or obselete equipment, by failing distribution networks, by unsafe roads and bridges. WGK, Inc. practices a wide range of civil engineering disciplines to deal with these ensnaring obstacles and keep your team moving out of the undergrowth and into the clear.
Infrastructure in our cities and towns continues to age, and sanitary sewer networks are among the oldest pieces of installed hardware, with many systems predating municipal/rural water networks and nearing 100 years of age. The demand for sewer network replacement and rehabilitation is higher than it has ever been, as cities and towns outgrow and over-utilize these antiquated systems, some of which still utilize pipes molded from clay, just as the Romans did 2,000 years ago. When these networks fail, inflow and infiltration can cause wastewater treatment facilities to become overwhelmed, and raw sewage can backup to the surface and create an awful health hazard for citizens.
