Starr Associates is a land surveying and civil engineering company serving Lafayette, West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Benton County, Warren County, Fountain County, White County, Carroll County, Clinton County, and a good portion of the state of Indiana. Whether you are looking for Commercial, Agricultural, or Residential Services, our professional team is here to meet your needs! When deciding on the feasibility of a project, we should be your first call. We work with Architects to make sure your project meets the guidelines and timelines before going through expensive processes.
Our founder, Colin Nicholas Starr, a Civil Engineering graduate from Purdue University and Professional Engineer started surveying from his home after receiving his surveying license in 1973. By 1991, Starr Associates was conceived and he opened his first office on Main Street in Lafayette in 1996. Shortly after, Carol Starr, Nick's wife, left her employment as a Social Worker to become the Office Manager. In 1997 his son, Todd, a Building and Construction Technology graduate from Purdue University, returned to Lafayette as a Starr Associates employee.
ALTA/ ACSM Land Title surveys are performed on commercial properties and help to determine property lines, locate improvements, and identify all easements, utilities and other conditions affecting the property. A subdivision design first incorporates a surveyor's assistance in the design phase of the project in the right-of-way design, utility, drainage, and lot locations. We help guide our clients through the subdivision process via submissions, meetings, and drawings. Drainage and site designs provide drainage calculations and construction plans to show municipalities how a particular project will not adversely affect the current Storm water quality or quantity conditions.
Starr Associates is currently licensed in the state of Indiana with their office located in Lafayette, Indiana. Services are provided for North Central Indiana. A property survey is a sketch or map of a property showing its boundaries and other physical features. Residential property survey reports also show the relative location of a house, shed, other building and fences on the property, and it usually includes the position of any public or municipal easements. A flood boundary survey consists of showing the flood boundary (typically 100-year flood) in relation to the property lines and/or building.
Our office will be closed today. We will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8am. If you have an emergency, please email us. Thank you and please continue to stay safe!
