Having been at the forefront of the engineering industry for the past few decades, we succeed in municipal, environmental, transportation, and civil engineering best practices. Our firm thrives on being a full-service company meeting the needs of both private and public sector clients. CBBEL is unique among consulting engineering and surveying firms in that we are a full-service company that can comprehensively meet the needs of both private and public sector clients. Guided by founder and CEO Christopher B. Burke, our "family business" corporatephilosophy allows for a level of personal service that provides peace of mind.
CBBEL staff has extensive experience in all aspects of water resources, including environmental studies, water quality enhancement, permitting, hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for FEMA, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and municipalities, counties, and state agencies in Illinois and Indiana. The Water Resources Department provides various services to municipal, county, state, federal, and private clients related to stormwater drainage and floodplain analysis. We have investigated and analyzed numerous flood events from the August 1987 event through the summer of 2016.
The Land Surveying Department has 3 registered professional land surveyors and 4 field crews. The Land Surveying staff has been together for nearly 20 years which allows them to be a very consistent asset to our engineers.
We have learned that clients are often in need of alternative solutions for project delivery based on schedule and cost. This challenge has led to the creation of the Design/Build team who provides General Contracting and Construction Management services in the private and public sector of our industry. Burke, LLC Design/Build was created to provide our clients with single point control of design and construction operations of the project. A core group of senior professionals form the backbone of expertise needed for operations.
CBBEL staff brings unparalleled experience and understanding of the latest drainage practices to provide solutions to challenging corridor and site stormwater management projects. CBBEL's Drainage Engineering Department offers specialized expertise in roadway drainage, stormwater management, and waterway crossing analysis from concept through permitting. Our staff works closely with multi-discipline teams of surveyors, geometric designers, structural engineers, and environmental specialists to create stormwater management systems that meet our clients' visions for improvements.
We are familiar with the various aspects of construction from addressing or finding solutions and resident and municipality concerns to IDOT procedures and project close-out. Our staff excels at working with various funding types and the documentation to close-out projects in a timely manner. CBBEL's Construction staff possesses full knowledge of all facets of civil engineering projects, including highway and utility construction specifications, documentation requirements, and various public funding sources to ensure that our clients are confident in our abilities to deliver successful completion of a project.
We specialize in municipal engineering, providing services to numerous municipalities, counties, townships, sanitary districts and drainage districts. Our diversification and flexibility are without a doubt the keys to our successful, long-term relationships. We execute all aspects of transportation engineering from environmental studies and roadway design to traffic signal and construction observation. Our reputation is built on our personalized attention and accurate performance. Our staff has extensive experience with challenging water resources projects like stormwater management, flood control projects and golf course design assistance.
