Hutchison & Associates has provided engineering and surveying services to the Baytown area since 1963. We work closely with our clients and governing agencies to produce high-quality, sustainable, cost effective projects on task and on time. The diversity of our services allows us to contribute to every aspect of a project from inception to design to construction through final acceptance. We provide a wide range of services including land surveying, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, construction management and land planning.

In 1963, our company was established as a civil engineering and land surveying firm. Over the years, we have expanded to include numerous engineers, surveyors, designers, CAD techs, field survey crews, and more. Mr. Gainer has over 30 years of engineering experience, with 20 years in the Baytown-Houston region and seven years with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). In January of 2009, after 15 years of employment and four years as Vice President/Principal for Hutchison & Associates, Mr. Gainer acquired Busch, Hutchison & Associates, Inc. (DBA Hutchison & Associates) and became president.

One of the fastest growing methods for delivering construction projects is design-build. Rather than having the owner of a project deal separately with the designer and contractor, design-build utilizes one complete team with a designer and contractor working together. This method is collaborative and encourages the entire team to address changes and problems. The owner saves time, money, and has better service delivery. Streamlining the project delivery process by utilizing a single team with designers and builders yields faster, more cost-effective, higher-quality projects.

Hutchison & Associates has a wide range of engineering services to meet our clients' needs. Our government clients include the cities of Baytown, Mont Belvieu, Dayton, Shoreacres, Houston, Pasadena, LaPorte, Seabrook and Harris, Chambers, and Liberty counties. Licensed engineers and technicians from Hutchinson & Associates provide construction work inspections including paving projects, utility installations, drainage improvements, building construction, floodwall protection, subdivision construction, industrial facilities and more.

Hutchison & Associates' professional surveyors perform complete surveying services using the latest technology available. Playing an integral role in land development, our surveyors research, collect and analyze data, locate boundary corners, take accurate measurements of buildings and other improvements, and use that information to generate survey maps, show monumentation, and identify property ownership. Land surveys are performed for a variety of reasons. They determine boundaries of properties as well as easements, encroachments, ownership, and are useful in avoiding or solving boundary disputes.
