The Southern Region of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters represents thousands of working men and women throughout 41counties incentral Illinois. Since 1881 we continue to be a productive, positive force while improving the lives of its skilled members and their families. Members of the Southern Region of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters include professionals trained in these specialties: General Carpenter, Residential Carpenter, Exhibit and Display Installer, Interior Systems Carpenter, Lather, Cabinetmaker and Millworker, Flooring Installer, Pile Driver, Millwright, Insulation Installer, Shingling and Siding Installer, and Concrete Forming.
The Southern Region of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters covers 41 counties in Central Illinois. There are three (3) carpenter locals in our jurisdiction. We have 4,046 members and over 1,300 contractors. Our contractor base perform work in the following areas: general carpentry, heavy and highway construction, pile driving, residential construction, interior systems, flooring and ceiling contractors, concrete contractors, millwright contractors, cabinet shops, door shops, mill shops, roofing contractors, truss shops, industrial contractors and institutional contractors.
INSTALLTM- Installation Standards Training ALLiance is associated with the floor covering arm of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) and its training program. For years, INSTALL has been providing the highest quality, most comprehensive training and certification available for installers of floor covering materials in residential and commercial markets. INSTALL flooring mechanics are trained in an exhaustive five-year program that leaves no relevant issue unaddressed. The first year consists of pre-apprenticeship training where students work as helpers in order to get a feel for the trade.
