Air conditioners, also known as A/Cs, are units that's process is to alter the properties of the air to a more favorable condition (conditioning the air). Air conditioning is also referred to any technology that can modify the condition of the air. The most common use of an air conditioner is to lower the temperature of the air inside your home, making your home more comfortable in the summer months. Modern air conditioners use the exact same operating principles and components as your refrigerator.

Heat pumps are HVAC units that either cool or heat, by taking heat from one place and moving it to another. During the winter months, a pump draws heat from the air outdoors and circulates it through the air ducts in your home. In the summer months, it does the opposite process and takes heat from inside your house and releases it outdoors. A heat pump is an energy efficient way to heat or cool your home, especially in a warm climate, and is most generally a vapor compression refrigeration device.

A boiler is a closed vessel where water is heated, but the fluid does not necessarily boil. Basically, the heated fluid leaves the boiler for use in many heating processes including central heating. In a hot water system, the water is heated by the boiler to around 180 degrees. Then a circulator moves water through pipes leading to baseboard heaters, radiant tubing, or radiators. In a steam system, the boiler turns the water into steam, which then rises through the pipes to the radiators. Boilers have a few advantages over your gas or electric furnaces.

An air handler unit, or AHU, is used to regulate and circulate air as part of an HVAC system. Most generally, an air handler is a large metal box that contains the following: a blower, heating and/or cooling elements, filter racks, sound attenuators, and dampers. Air handlers are generally connected to some type of ductwork ventilation. The ductwork ventilation system distributes the conditioned air throughout your home and returns air to the AHU. If you're ready to replace your old air handler or you want to have a new system installed, choose the professional staff at Thorne Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning.

I had an issue with my furnace they came the same day fixed the issue and the tech was very nice! Great customer service

This company fixed a part in my furnace and it works fine.the problem is the technician then told me we had a crack in the heat exchange and that our duct work in the house was probably the issue. He said we needed to replace the furnace and have duct work done. He also told us that our air conditioner was old and needed replaced. I had 2 other local companies come out for an estimate. BOTH companies said there is no way there was a crack and if there was it would be an extreme danger to continue to run it in that condition. Needless to say we are still using our current equipment. I say the extreme danger is dealing with Thornes!

I paid these guys $430 to fix two Leaky bathrooms. End result was only one got fixed and they wanted to charge me another $100 the next day to come back out and fix what they should have fixed the first time. I would not recommend their services.
