In most cases, aluminum fascia is installed with the soffits. Most of the time it is pre bent and it has a wood grain texture to mimic a "rough sawn" cedar plank. When we started in the business in the mid 80's, most all of the trim packages that were being delivered for new construction included 2×6 or 2×8 "D and better" grade cedar. The look is beautiful and it is fairly simple to install with the roofing crew. But cedar has to be maintained. If the boards are not painted and sealed every few years, they will start to decay. it usually starts on the corners where the painting and sealant did not cover the wood grains and moisture has been wicked up through the ends.

KBI Installs gutters with custom miters (corners) and hidden hangers. Sometimes wedges are needed on the back of the gutters to provide a brace against the angled fascia so the gutters stay plumb as they are meant to be. Spikes and ferrules are not used as a rule in this area because of the high moisture content and other factors, it is not a question of "if" the spikes will fail and loosen up but "when" they will fail. Often what you see from the ground is the gutters are tilted forward or separated from the fascia.

The siding on your home is important to you. You want siding that looks great, lasts a long time and protects your home. On top of that, it can reduce energy use, not only saving you money but saving the earth! It's durable, dependable, low-maintenance and protects your home against Lee County Sun and extreme weather. Whether you like vinyl siding to the time-tested, rustic appeal of cedar shakes, there's a material that suits the style of your house and also fits your lifestyle. Florida homes and buildings like yours need protection from the horizontal wind driven rains of hurricanes and the numerous tornadoes that go with them.

The soffit installation that we generally provide on remodels or new construction is better than manufactured recommendations. We fasten soffit panels at every rib into the sub fascia, attach a trim nail at every panel overlap (between 12″ and 16″ typically). Through our experiences from Hurricane Charley on through all of the storms that have passed through this area in the past decade or so, this application has not failed us yet. We use High quality materials with crews that care about the result as if it was there own home.
