MacDowell Fellow in theatre arts James Anthony Tyler (18), who was among the artists whose 2020 MacDowell residencies were postponed due to COVID-19, joins the cast and crew of a recent production of his play "Some Old Black Man" to talk about producing a play during the pandemic.
Barbara Ess, a writer, musician, and multidisciplina ry artist, has died. She was in residence at MacDowell six times between 1997 and 2010, working in Eastman, Nef, and Putnam studios, meeting and affecting hundreds of other artists-in-resi dence along the way.
